Brent Bechtol, Chief Executive Officer

Prior to co-founding Varas Energy, Mr. Bechtol spent the first half of his career as an upstream and midstream oil & gas private equity investor, primarily with EnCap Investments; and the second half managing several partnerships and businesses in a variety of industries, including upstream oil & gas, manufacturing, and security. He has served on numerous boards of private companies with which he has been affiliated. Mr. Bechtol received a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.B.A. from Rice University.

Will Grundy, President

Prior to co- founding Varas Energy, Mr. Grundy worked as the Director of Energy Investment Strategy at Arc57. He previously served in a variety of roles in the Finance, Business Development, and Land Departments with Indigo Natural Resources and Carrizo Oil & Gas, specifically focusing on assets in the Permian, Eagle Ford, Haynesville, Utica, and Marcellus Shale basins. Mr. Grundy received a B.A., Cum Laude, in English Literature from Sewanee: The University of the South, and an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Ross Huebel, Vice President - Operations

Mr. Huebel brings a broad background of engineering and operational experience to Varas Energy. He began his career at BP working Onshore US, Egypt, Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. He has extensive experience in South Texas leading operations and engineering teams at Stonegate Production Company and Kimmeridge Texas Gas, now Caturus. He also was a Senior Advisor at Solomon Associates where he benchmarked and advised operators worldwide on production improvements. Mr. Huebel received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Managerial Studies from Rice University.

Kendall Jones, Director - Business Operations

Mrs. Jones supports day-to-day operations and administrative needs at the Varas Energy main office. She received a B.S., Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Oklahoma and a M.S., Magna Cum Laude, in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University - Houston. After working for 4 years as an Occupational Therapist, Mrs. Jones now works primarily in human resources, using her clinical and regulatory background to improve company operational efficiency and ensure employee well-being.
